Died July 4, 1919 at home in Warren County, at age 17, of TB. Born in Brown County on Feb 22, 1902, nr Mt. Zion, the youngest daughter of George W. Hurley, a prosperous farmer who lives near Stewart, Ind. The family moved to Warren County about 906. Surv. are her parents and two sisters. Two Sister and a bro are dec. Burial was in West Lebanon Christian Church Cem. Pallbearers were Glen, Dillard & Harley Hurley, Thaddeus Sheppards, Thomas and (Vincal?) Hendricks. Four were cousins.

Obituary of Grover Hurley

Funeral services for Grover C. Hurley, a former resident of this county, were held last Friday afternoon at the East Columbus Church of Christ with the Rev. L.J. Nicklas officiating. Burial was made in Garland Brook cemetery at Columbus.

Mr. Hurley was killed by electrocution Wednesday of last week, while he was driving a Columbus steel garbage truck when it came in contact with a radio aerial which had fallen across an electric light line, Sam Weaver, a helper on the truck, was first shocked and knocked to the ground. He yelled and Hurley, who was in the cab, started to get out to see what the trouble was. As he climbed down from the truck the charge apparently grounded through his body when his foot touched the ground.

Mr. Hurley was born near Pikes Peak and lived in this county until about 25 years ago when the family moved to Columbus. He was sixty years old and a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife Blanch; one son, George of Indianapolis; seven daughters, Mrs. Howard Leonard of Greenwood, Mrs Homer Tovey of Shelbyvile, Mrs. Carl Drury and Mrs. Clarence Barkhole of Indianapolis, Mrs. Donald McKinney, Mrs. James Percifield, and Mrs. Harold Coles of Columbus and 14 grandchildren.

He also leaves two brothers, Melvin Hurley of Indianapolis and Charles Hurley of Brown County, and four sisters, Mrs. Eston Risk of Columbus, Mrs. Leonard of Illinois, Mrs. Lorenzo Mabe of Clayton, and Mrs. John Carter of Hope.
