She married VIVIAN CROCKETT 'TICK' MARTIN February 15, 1929 in Bristol, Tennessee. He was born July 15, 1908 in Max Meadows, Wythe County, Virginia, and died April 24, 1990.

Winnie Marjorie Chrisley Martin, 95, of Longview Village Circle, passed away Sept. 17, 2007. She was born July 24, 1912, in Wythe County, daughter of the late Robert Lee and Ollie Craddock Mabe Chrisley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Vivian C. "Tick" Martin Sr.; her two oldest children, Andrew Clinton Martin Sr. and William Sherman Martin Sr.; and two sisters, Florence Allison and Louise Buchanan. Mrs. Martin was a retired cook at the Max Meadows Elementary School cafeteria. She is survived by her beloved children, Charles Danny and Mimi Martin of Killeen, Texas, Blanche and Zane Gray Sr. of Chesapeake, Judy M. Stevens of Salt Lake City, Utah, V.C. Martin Jr. of Max Meadows, Va.; daughter-in-law, Imojean F. Martin of Roanoke; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel, Wytheville, with Pastor Mike Ingo officiating. Interment will follow in McGavock Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Louise Christley Buchanan

Louise Christley Buchanan, 81, of Pulaski, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, at
her residence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at Barnett
Funeral Chapel in Wytheville with the Rev. Mike Harrison officiating.
Interment will follow in the McGavock Cemetery.

She was born in Max Meadows, a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Ollie
Craddock Mabe Christley. She was a member of the Anchor of Hope
Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Forest Buchanan; a son, Fred
Lee Buchanan; and a sister, Florence Allison.

Survivors include six daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Bobby Viars
of Thomasville, N.C., Barbara and Don Corvin of Route 4, Wytheville,
Malinda and Tommy Sult of Baltimore, Md., Nancy and Ernest Johnson of
Roanoke, Marjorie Vaught of Pulaski, Ollie and Earl Smith of Valdese, N.C.;
four sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel and Pam Buchanan of Max Meadows,
Steven A. and Reta Buchanan of Route 2, Wytheville, Philip G. Buchanan,
James and Deborah Buchanan, all of Route 4, Wytheville; one sister, Winnie
Martin of Wytheville; 24 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Barnett
Funeral Home.

Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
