ark Alan MABE, 28, of Bonnieville, died Sunday, July 18, 1999. A native of Hart County, he was a general maintenance worker and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Jamie TAYLOR MABE; a son, Alex Alan MABE of Sonora; his parents, James A. and Juanita BUTLER MABE of Bonnieville; two sisters, Judy RIGGS and Lois RIGGS, both of Bonnieville; and his maternal grandmother, Leora BUTLER of Elizabethtown. The funeral is 1 p.m. Central time Thursday at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church in Upton with the Rev. Earl SANDERS and the Rev. Phil SALLEE officiating. Burial will be in Upton City Cemetery. Visitation is 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Central time today, and after 9 a.m. Central time Thursday at Hawkins-Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville.

he was a native of Russell County, Va. and had lived in Oakwood for the past three months, moving from Richlands.
he was a member of Oakwood Full Gospel Church and owner of Dixie Carry-Out Restaurant, Baltimore, Md.
urvivors include four daughters, Reba Darlene Russ, Oakwood, Sandra Lou Garland, Richlands, Sherry Gwynn Lawrence, Cosby, Tenn., and Mary Lisa Sparks, Drill, Va.; a son, Stephen Paul Mabe, Phenix City, Ala.; three sisters, Virginia Johnson, Rowe, Va., Ruth Smith, Richlands, and Wanda Mitchell, Rosedale; five brothers, Gaines Stevens, Honaker, Elden Cook and Douglas Cook, both of Rowe, J.C. Cook, Abingdon, and Donald Lee Cook, Manassas; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

REEVES Mrs. Linda Faye Mabe Reeves, 58, passed away Friday, July 14, 2000, at her home. Mrs. Reeves was born in Forsyth County to Charles and Louise Fulp Mabe on Oct. 30, 1941. She was employed by Pellcare for the last 20 years. Surviving are her husband, Mr. Maurice Reeves of Georgia; one son, Mr. Greg Cook and wife Melissa of Jamestown; one daughter, Mrs. Leslie King and husband Greg of Mt. Airy; her mother, Mrs. Louise Mabe of Winston-Salem; a special and close friend, whom she considered an adopted child, Mr. Doug Hyman of Winston-Salem; and a host of friends and co-workers at Pellcare. A private funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2000, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel by Mr. Bill Teague. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
DEAL Mrs. Linda Mabe Deal, 51, passed away Thursday, May 4, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. She was born June 22, 1948, in Forsyth County to Everett Harrison and Lona Grubbs Mabe. Mrs. Deal was retired from Bell South after 31 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her husband, Lester Deal of the home; three children, Kay Casstevens Miller and husband Michael and wife Wanda of Clemmons, Sonya Casstevens of Clemmons, and Michael Casstevens II of North Wilkesboro; grandchildren Brad Tucker, Morgan Miller, Stevie Hamby, Raygan Casstevens; brothers Jerry Mabe and wife Marie, Gene Mabe and wife Jean; sisters Kathy and Lisa Mabe; a special brother-in-law, Richard Deal; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with the Rev. Bob Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. BULLINS MAYODAN -- William Davis Bullins, 95, of Washington St. Ext., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 19, 2000. He died at Morehead Nursing Center, Eden. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2000, at Ray Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Brother Paul Sisk. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery. Mr. Bullins was born March 14, 1905, at Patrick County, Va., to the late Henry Clay and Harriet Mabe Bullins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Manuel Bullins; brothers Tom and Russell; sisters Hallie and Nannie. MABE WALKERTOWN -- Mr. Earlie Thomas Mabe, 84, of Walkertown died Sunday at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born April 8, 1915, in Stokes County to the late Thomas William and Lottie Martin Mabe. He was a retired farmer and a member of Clear Springs Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon since 1972. He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Wayne Mabe, who died in 1961 and his daughter, Mary Jo Richardson, who died in 1994. Survivors include his wife, Mozelle Mabe of the home; one daughter, Virginia and husband, Curtis Shell of Walkertown; one son-in-law, Rollen Richardson of Walnut Cove; one sister, Mattie Sue Snow of Winston-Salem; one brother, Elmer Mabe of Walkertown; grandchildren Hank Todd Shell of Winston-Salem, Lynn Shell Kuehl and husband, Alan of Rockwell and Sandra Jane Richardson of Walnut Cove; a great-grandson on the way; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Clear Springs Primitive Baptist Church. Elder William Dodson, Elder Charlie Stephens and Elder J.H. Keaton will officiate. MABE MOUNT AIRY -- Mrs. Jennie Carol Cockerham Mabe, 37, of 109 Hickory St. died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at her home. Mrs. Mabe was born in Manhattan, N.Y., a daughter of Howard Wayne and Mary Alice Hiatt Cockerham and was an employee of Sarah Lee Corp. Surviving, in addition to her parents of Walnut Cove, are her husband, John Romeo Mabe of the home; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Evans of Rural Hall and Sherrie Louane Evans of Kernersville; one grandson, Michael Austin Evans of Kernersville; and one sister, Donna Morton and husband Ricky of Walnut Cove. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jeff Wertz. BECK Mrs. Stella Mabe Beck, 69, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at her home after a six-month battle with cancer. She was born June 8, 1930, in Forsyth County to Bessie A. and Marshall Harrison Mabe. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a surrogate mother to many. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Mr. Ralph D. Beck of the home; two sons, Mr. David Beck and his wife, Linda, of Knightdale, N.C. and Mr. Doug Beck and his wife, Trish, of Cary; three grandchildren, Stephanie Bolton and her husband, Steve, of Winston-Salem, Nelson ''Thumper'' Beck and Kameron Beck of Knightdale; one brother, Mr. Lacy Mabe and his wife, Ila Mae, of Kissimmee, Fla; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Mooney and her husband, Carl, of Winston-Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews. SMITH WALNUT COVE -- Mrs. Martha Bolejack Smith, 90, formerly of N.C. 8 Highway S., Walnut Cove, died late Sunday, July 2, 2000, at Scenic View Health and Rehabilitation in King. She was born in Stokes County on Jan. 16, 1910, the daughter of the late Luther and Fannie Mabe Bolejack. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Palmyra Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kerman Smith. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde and Virginia Smith and Harold and Nancy Smith, all of Walnut Cove; a brother, Charlie Bolejack of Germanton; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Palmyra United Methodist Church with Elder Ruben Abbott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
