Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Howard Smith officiating. |

(Dec 1857), Maggie Eldridge (May 1887 stepchild), and Lizzie (Aug 1888) The 1910 Claiborne County, Tennessee census: Mabe, Sam (54), Loai (50) 8 children 8 alive, Lizzie Eldridge (18 stepchild) 1 child 1 alive, Sam Eldridge (3 Lizzie's son), and Ida (7 step grandchild), Jordon, Enoch (19 no relation). Sam and Loai were married 12 yrs. Occupation:farming. It says that Lizzie was married for a year and that this was Loai's second marriage. Loai, Lizzie and all their parents were born in Kentucky. Ida and her father was born in Virginia. Ida's mother was born in Kentucky. Sam was born in Tennessee. Everyone else and their parents were born in Tennessee. Sam was living next door to his brother John. The 1920 Claiborne County, Tennessee census: Mabe, Samuel N. (49) and Lucretia (60) living with his son-in-law Enoch Jordon. Enoch (28) was married to Lizzie (28). Their children Sam (12), Alford (5), and Bill (3yrs 7 mos.) were living with them. Sam Mabe --- Feb. 5, 1959 Mr. Sam Mabe, age 82, passed away in a Knoxville Hospital January 26, 1959. Survivors: wife, Mrs, Nannie Mabe, Lone Mountain; one brother, Mr. Tom Mabe, Lone Mountain. Funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Lone Mountain Methodist church with Rev. M. Lathum officiating. Interment in the Leabow Cemetery. Pallbearers: Buddy Leabow, Hobert Leabow, Frank Lane, Granville Hodge, Clay Jordon, and Jim Jordon. Coffey in charge. |
