He married (2) MARTHA E. ROBERTS September 17, 1867 in Green County, Tennessee. She was born May 16, 1842 in Tennessee, and died Bef. 1921.

He married (1) FANNIE FOLEY July 25, 1867 in Knox County, Kentucky, daughter of BERRY FOLEY and MARGARET CAMPBELL. She was born October 1848 in Tennessee. He married (2) AMERICA JONES March 25, 1909 in Gray, Knox County, Kentucky, daughter of JOHN JONES and LUCY HAMMONDS. She was born November 15, 1862 in Kentucky, and died May 30, 1918 in Knox Couny, Kentucky.

This story was told to me back sometime ago (1984) by John's granddaughter and Henry's daughter Fannie Ethel Mabe at her home.

John Mabe was buried in the Knox County, County Cemetery at or around Barbourville, Kentucky.

My thoughts are, none of the family would or did not have the money to bury him so the County had to. No one has beenable to locate his grave site as Aunt Fannie told me.
