The Cailein MacDougall Home Page
I am researching my MacDougall, McDougle, McDougal, etc. heritage. It started back in the mid 1700's when John came to America. We think he may have come with family, but are not sure.According to the information we have, he was a bookbinder in N.Y. City and may have been buried in a cemetery near St. Paul's Church, N.Y. city (now near the World Trade Center). He had a son also named John that set off young to Connecticut and eventually moved to Chemung (then Tioga) County, N.Y.He was a travelling preacher and had many children. The MacDougall lineage flourished in this area near Millport, N.Y. till about the 1950's. I have a lot of information willing to share.I am looking for any information that enhance what I have on John, mentioned above.Plus I as alway am looking for any information that I can add to my database. | The Cailein MacDougall Home Page Updated September 5, 2000 |
