Thanks to Dayl and Jennie Stout of Marysville, Michigan we now have the whole family of Maryland Revolutionary War John and Margaret (Teeples) Staples.
They moved to Northampton County, Pa. by 1790 and in the Pa. Archives John was spelled Steeples. A spelling that was to follow his son John and his wife Catharina d/o Peter and Veronica (Heller) Conrad and his family through out the coming years.

Catharina, spelled Staples died in Lansing, Tompkins County, New York and is buried in North Lansing Cemetery. John married a woman by the name of Mary by 1837 when they sold the land John bought from his daughter's in laws, John and Mary, called Polly (Linderman)Osmun.

John and Catharina's children, Veronica, called Fanny, Johannes, called John, George, Sally and Mary Ann all lived and died in various counties in Michigan.

John b. 1780 supposedly died in 1853 but where? Do you know?

Here is hoping our contribution to the web helps you and if you would like to contribute to our history, feel free to send us your e-mail.

Happy hunting, Kay and Ward Martin
