JOSEPH BOLTON
Joseph Bolton, 66, of 223 E. 33d street, South Sioux City, died Monday in a Sioux City hospital after an operation.
Mr. Bolton, a blacksmith by trade, was born March 1, 1876, at Ponca, Neb. He lived there until 15 years ago, when he moved to South Sioux City.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Emmett Brooks and Mrs. Harold Krausnick, both of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Olive Preston and Miss Arlene Bolton, both of South Sioux City; four sons, Raymond, Leroy and Dick, all of South Sioux City, and Bill of Camp Walters, Texas; three brothers, Roy of South Sioux City and John and William, both of Ponca; three sisters, Mrs. Angee Meiers of Ponca, Mrs. Nell Latham of Sioux City and Mrs. Minnie Miller of Sioux Falls, and 18 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Lutheran church in South Sioux City. Rev. E. R. Stoltz of Rosalie, Neb., will officiate.
Burial in the Ponca cemetery will be under the direction of Becker's funeral home.

Mrs. Emma Bolton, 59, 213 E. 33rd street, South Sioux City, died Tuesday in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Bolton was born August 21, 1881, at Ponca, where she lived until moving to South Sioux City 1_* years ago. She was a member of the Ponca Lutheran church.
Funeral services are being held today (Thursday) at 2:30 p.m. in the First Lutheran church in South Sioux City, with Rev. E. N. Haugse officiating. Burial will be in the Ponca cemetery.
Survivors include the husband Joseph; four daughters, Arlene Bolton and Mrs. Olive Creston, both of South Sioux City; Mrs. Elizabeth Krausnick of Sioux City and Mrs. Lena Brooks of Portland, Ore.; four sons, Leroy, Dick and William, all of South Sioux City, and Raymond of Sioux City; a sister, Mrs. Ivan Mendenhall of Ponca, and three brothers, Ed Miille of Lincoln, and Herman and Henry Miille of Ponca. This researcher, Diane (Bolton) Mack, visited the gravesite of my great-grandmother, Emma (Miille) Bolton, in October, 1993, and recorded the information as: BOLTON. MOTHER. EMMA G. 1881 - 1941. It was a double headstone, with her husband, Joseph, as the other person named. The gravestone is located in Ponca Cemetery, Ponca, Dixon County, Nebraska.

DIES WHILE ON DETROIT VISIT
SOUTH SIOUX CITY YOUNG MAN IS VICTIM OF BRAIN TUMOR
Failing to rally from the effects of an operation to remove a tumor of the brain, Joseph Earl Bolton, 28 years old, a resident of South Sioux City, Neb., died in a hospital in Detroit, Mich.
Mr. Bolton left South Sioux City three months ago to go to Detroit for a visit with relatives, and while there became ill. He was taken to a hospital where an operation was performed in an effort to save his life.
Mr. Bolton had spent most of his life in South Sioux City, moving there with his parents when he was a small child. He was born near Ponca, Neb., April 22, 1901.
Surviving are: his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Bolton of South Sioux City, four sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at the Lutheran church in South Sioux City this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, with Rev. George E. Mortensen officiating. Interment will be at Ponca, Neb.
Long time friends of Mr. Bolton will serve as pallbearers. They are: Karl Rogosch, Charles Suter, Clay Armbright, Chris Sohn, John Bobier and George Fisher. Becker's funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

BOY VICTIM OF AUTO EXPIRES
SOUTH SIOUX CITY LAD SUCCUMBS TO SKULL FRACTURE
After being struck by an automobile while he was on his way home from school, John Bolton, 10-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bolton, of South Sioux City, Neb., died shortly before midnight Tuesday in a Sioux City hospital.
Death was attributed to a fracture at the base of the skull by attendants at the hospital. John failed to regain consciousness before he died. He also suffered a fracture of the upper and lower jaws.
The boy was struck by an automobile driven by Roy Graham, who lives near South Sioux City, at Dakota avenue and Lincoln street, about 12:45 o'clock Tuesday. Graham, in a report to police, said that he was driving north on Dakota avenue and that the lad ran out from the curb into the path of his automobile.
Born in Jackson, Neb., January 7, 1919, John lived there for a year and then, with his parents, moved to South Sioux City, Neb. He was a student in the fifth grade of the South Sioux City high school.
Besides his parents, John is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Krausnick, Mrs. Olive Preston and Arlene and Lena Bolton, all of South Sioux City, Neb., and four brothers, Ray Bolton, of Sioux City, and Richard, Leroy and William, all of South Sioux City, Neb.
The Becker Undertaking company in South Sioux City is in charge of funeral arrangements.

COINCIDENCE FIGURES IN FATAL ACCIDENT OF BOY OF 10
Anxiety of an auto driver as to the condition of his sister who had been in a Sioux City hospital for nine weeks may have figured in the tragic death Tuesday of John Bolton, 10 years old, of South Sioux City, Neb., whose own sister is a patient in another hospital here.
Roy Graham, who lives near South Sioux City, driver of the automobile which struck the Bolton boy early Tuesday afternoon at Lincoln street and Dakota avenue, South Sioux City, resulting in the lad's death in Methodist hospital Tuesday night, has a sister who has been confined to the same hospital for nine weeks. Graham was said to have been en route to visit the sister when the accident occurred.
Mrs. Elizabeth Krausnick, a sister of John Bolton, is a patient in the Lutheran hospital.

RITES FOR BOY AUTO VICTIM HERE TODAY
Funeral services for John Bolton, 10 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bolton, South Sioux City, Neb., who died in a Sioux City hospital late Tuesday after being struck by an automobile, will be held at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon at the First Lutheran church, South Sioux City.
Rev. George E. Mortenson will officiate. Burial will be in Ponca, Neb. Schoolmates of the boy will serve as pallbearers.
The pallbearers will be: John Hogan, Robert Brandon, Milton Gallagher, Marsten Talbott, Jack Haacker and Harold Smith. The fourth grade of the South Sioux City junior school will form an escort to the grave.
