Notes for GEORGE FRANKLIN DELL FISHER:
The family moved to town after the deaths of the 3 children from Diptheria, and George blamed living on the farm and not having adequate medical aid for the deaths of the children. George thought the doctor they had was a "quack." Besides the children, the doctor and the hired girl also contracted Diptheria, and may have both died. Also, the oldest child, Arlene, had it, but did not die. Because the farm was quarantined, George had to take each !of the three children and bury them himself on the farm. He was an taciturn person, and it is possible that he blamed himself for the deaths of these children all his life.

Notes for GEORGE FISHER:
Died of diptheria with two siblings within a 10 day span. Georgie was the last to die. Family tradition states that Susan, Georgie's mother, was sitting up in the rocking chair after giving birth to Mildred. Leone and Vern had died. Georgie climbed up on his mother's lap, and said to her: "Mommy, we will miss Vern and Leone, but you still have me." After uttering this, and while she rocked him, he too died.
