DOROTHY GAYLE BELDIN
Dorothy Gayle Beldin, 68, of Ponca, died Wednesday, May 11, 1988, in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.
Services were held Friday in Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca with the Rev. Stephen Seyler officiating. Burial was in Silver Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Beldin, the former Dorothy Myers, was born Dec. 26, 1919, in Dixon County. She married Ardean Beldin Dec. 11, 1941, in Ponca. The couple lived in the Ponca/Newcastle area all their married life. He died Jan. 3, 1988. Mrs. Beldin operated a day care center in her home for several years.
Survivors include a son, Robert of Clarks; two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Sharon) Olsen of Obert and Mrs. Dennis (Jan) Hall of Ponca; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

The following was read at the funeral service for Gayle (Tweed) Bolton:

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"
"Gone where?"
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!" there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: "Here she comes!"
And that is dying.
