Taken in July, 1917, this photo commemorated the 50th wedding anniversary of Robert Mitton (1832-1922) and his third wife, Mary Alvina Newcombe. Robert Mitton's second wife was Lorenda Bobier (1842-1867), a granddaughter of Gregory and Martha (Willis) Bobier, and their only son was Wilbert J. Mitton (1861-1937). Wilbert and his wife, Mary Janet Bentley (1864-1940), hosted this gathering at Mapleton Lodge, their farm on River Road in Camden, Ontario, Canada.
