Dear John   I saw your family tree via a link in electricscotland.  I am descended from your Malcolm McKerchar and his wife Christina McArthur (Christian on your tree).  Christian's father was a miller at Milton Eonan called Archibald.  I have found a reference to him on an internet site that says he was a baptist minister, which would be quite unusual. They had a daughter Janet who married Robert McNaughton.  He farmed at Barguillean which is near Oban, Argyll.  He was buried in Kerrowmore graveyard.  Their daughter Annie was my great grandmother.  She married Dugald Campbell.  Dugald was a sheep farmer and was quite wealthy for the time.  His daughter, Catherine McLachlan Campbell married Alexander McDougall a builder in Oban.  Their daughter was Annie McDougall who married my father, Francis Clegg - an Englishman, I'm afraid!!  My name is Frances and I married an Irishman, so we're quite a mixed bunch now.    I have a letter from my mother's cousin outlining the lineage, if you're interested. She says that your surname was originally McKerracher but that their branch changed it to McKerchar because there were so many people with the same name it was getting confusing.   Here is a photo of Dugald Campbell and his wife Annie, the descendant of Malcolm.  She was a lot younger than him --.  Their children are John, Catherine and Robert, the little boy.   How did you work out who the ancestors of Malcolm were?  Did you have any family knowledge?   I have some more bits of information, if you are interested.   Although I have been to Scotland many times, I have never been to Glen Lyon. My father said it is the most beautiful place.   Kind regards Frances Fogarty - London
