I am currently researching the following surnames from the following areas:

From Western New York State, Allegany, Cattaraugus, Erie and Wyoming Counties:

Hartung originating from "Baden", Germany and first found in Lancaster, Erie County,, New York.

Louser/Lauser originating from Germany and settled in Allegany, Cattaraugus County, New York.

Mack/McManaman (also spelled McManimon, McManamon) originating from the Catholic parish of Ballycroy, civil parish of Kilcommon, County Mayo, Ireland, settled in Portageville, Wyoming County, New York.

McMahon originating in Ireland, settled in Birdsall, Allegany County, New York.

Minderler (also Mindeler, Mindler) from Bavaria, Germany and first found in Lancaster, Erie County, New York. (much thanks to Jim Slavin who helped contribute many of the individuals I currently have here)

From Rochester, Monroe County, New York:

DeYager/DeYeager (originally de Jager/de Jaeger) according to
available records my g-grandfather Ferdinand emmigrated in the latter 19th century from the town of Ijzendijke, Zeeland, Netherlands. His half-brothers Pieter and Franz settled in Perry County, Missouri.

Swartele originating also from Zeeland, Netherlands, the town of Biervliet.

van de Walle originating from Zeeland, Netherlands, town of Biervliet. Earlier records indicate they were from Belgium.

Meintel originating from southern parts of Germany (Prussia/Preußßen)(many thanks to Kevin Dykema who has done much exhaustive work on this line).

Anyone else researching these names please feel free to contact me. I have much information that I am willing to share freely. I am especially interested in hearing from anyone researching the surnames DeYager, Mack/McManaman, McMahon and Swartele.

To send me an email, remove the numbers from the email address and remove the spaces (I've done this to try and elude those perverted spammers.)
