2. CHRISTOPHER3 BAKER (WILLIAM2, RICHARD1) was born Abt 1835 in Terrington, St. Clements, Norfolk, England, and died November 03, 1913 in Malvern, Victoria, Australia. He married CATHERINE MONKS 1887 in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, daughter of Bernard Monks and Theresa Troy.

Christopher arrived in Victoria from Norfolk England, in Dec, 1855, aboard the vessel "Caliance". He was 20 years old and was accompanied by his first wife Frances Gage, who he married in 1853 at 18 years of age. He came to Australia under the Assisted Emigrants scheme as a labourer for P. Stevenson Engineering of Chatswood, Victoria. He started work on the 5th of January, 1856, with an annual income of 60 pounds plus rations. Frances Gage died in March 1870 at Heidelberg, Victoria. There were no known children from this marriage.
Christopher's second marriage was to Agnes Ann McColl (ref.Baker-McColl family)
His third Marriage was to Catherine Monks and together they had 2 sons, Joseph Thomas and James Noel. Catherine died 10 to 18 days after giving birth to James Noel as a result of a chill. After her death , the two boys were raised by their Maternal Grandmother, Theresa(Granny) Monks, in the Lake Bolac area of Victoria.
Christopher died of exhaustion and septic cystitis aged 76 years, and was buried with his second wife Agnes Ann McColl at the Greendale cemetery in Victoria.
