HAMLIN In the early 1600's, my g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-grandfather, George Hamlin was born in the state of Maryland; as was his son, Benjamin.Benjamin's son, John was also born in Maryland. 100 years after George's birth, in the early 1700's, John's son, George (named after his great grandfather, George Hamlin)was born.George had a son who he named Benjamin Lay, (whom was named after his great grandfather, Benjamin Hamlin). All of these men were born in Maryland. Benjamin Lay Hamlin moved to Whitley County, Kentucky and his son, John Jackson, was born there in the early 1800's.John Jackson stayed in Whitley County and his son, Calvin C., was also born there- as was Calvin's son, John Addison Hamlin.John Addison had my grandfather, Delmor Hamlin, who was born in Brummett, Kentucky, who had my mother, Jackie Arlene Hamlin. LIFORD My g-g-g grandfather was born in the state of Virginia. He moved to Tennessee, where his son, James, was born.James stayed in Tennessee and his son Jasper Thomas was also born there.Jasper moved up into Kentucky. His son, Monroe Liford Sr. was born there in the county of Whitley in the early 1900's. Monroe stayed in Whitley County where my father was born, Monroe Liford Jr, )his fathers namesake). Jackie Arlene Hamlin and Monroe Liford Jr. met in the hills of southeastern Ky.They courted and married. My siblings and I were born.We have all married and have children of our own. Some of those children have children as well. My parents, and those mentioned before them have all passed on.It is my hope that there legacies will never die. This is a compillation of various sources of research; including the internet, library, courthouse, e-mail, snail mail, telephone, and most importantly stories from my family members as they share their memories. Every July, our family members join together at my Uncle Hoss's home in Whitley Co., Kentucky and celebrate our familyties. It is a highly anticipated event by all who attend! I have located over 2000 of my extended family so far.My mother was from the Hamlin and Mullis families, as well as as Cummins and Veach. My father was from the Liford and White families, as well as the Early family. If you know anything about any of these people, or know other kinfolk not listed here, I would appreciate hearing from you!
