The Schmiz Family

I am researching the surnames of Schmiz, Hildermann and Greve. Looking for Adolph Gustav Schmiz married to Mary Elizabeth Hildermann in St. Louis, Missouri in 1873. At the time of their marriage they were both living in Bethalto, Illinois. They had eight children, Louis A., Wilhemina, Johanna K., Mary A., Charles H., Pauline Mary, Albert Bernard and Josephine. Adolph died in May of 1893 in Bethalto, IL. The History of Madison County, IL shows his name as G.A. Schmiz, jeweler/watchmaker in the year 1869. Mary died in Alton, Il in 1933.

I am specifically looking for information on both Adolph and Mary, passenger lists and the names of both their parents. Have not located through Ellis Island or Castle Garden, but was told that both he and Mary Hildermann came to the U.S. through that port. Adolph from Germany and Mary from Nice, France. Family stories have said that Mary was married once before to a Frenchman with the surname of "Foot". She was a widow and came back to the USA where she met Adolph.

Mary's death certificate lists her as having been born in Columbia, Illinois.

Any information would be appreciated and I am willing to share the information I have.
