The REAL Jerry Maguire Story

When the movie "Jerry Maguire" came out, I couldn't tell you how many supermarket cashiers and other people who accepted my checks asked me if my husband (the REAL Jerry Maguire) looked like Tom Cruise. Actually, my husband, son and grandson are all named "Jerry Maguire", but with at least 6 living Jerry's in our family, we call our grandson by his middle name, Michael. My family has been into geneaology for many years so I have lots of verified information in my half of the family tree. Unfortunately, the Maguire's didn't seem to care much about previous generations and kept very little in the way of family information and memorabilia. It's hard for me to beleive, but my husband's father didn't even know his own father's birthday! I have already discovered many cousins of his that we didn't even know existed, but have run into many dead ends with those pesky Maguires who didn't seem to write anything down. They apparently were even able to avoid the census enumerators and other "official" record keepers. I am publishing this in the hopes that someone out there might be able to fill in the blanks in our family tree. Of course, I also hope that somebody out there can use some of my research to fill in their own blanks.
