My name is Lisa Dawn, and I am just getting started with this particular family page.

I am researching many, many lines. But my hope is to gather all the information on a family from Prussia/Germany called Kluner. There isn't much out there, and I would appreciate information on any line. I really have too many irons in the fire, but can't seem to decide to put any of them out.

The name is spelled many times incorrectly in census, but the old German name was spelled Kluner (with an umlaut over the "U")according to another family researcher. The Americanize name can be found Kluener.

The first Kluner name that I have found in the United States is a man named Joseph. He is found in the 1840 Lancester, Pennsylvania Census. Joseph is 20 to 30 years old. There is a female 15-20, a male 10-15, and a male 0-5.

My first ancestor to come over from Germany was William Kluner. He arrived in 1850 and settled in Osage County, Missouri, and is found in the census in Linn Township.

In the 1860 Census Herman Kluner is found in St. Charles Township, St. Charles County, Missouri. I believe that he must be related to me, because William had a son called Herman, but only 12 years old in 1860.

Acccording to a fellow researcher, Kenneth Kluener, his ancestor Ignatz came to Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born in Westphalia, Germany which ties into my line somewhere back there, I'm sure.

There is also a group found in Cananda.

If you have any information on any Kluner family, I would love to be in touch with you.
