I have been researching the Abram line for approximately one year. Contributions from various researchers for the basis of the family's history back to Henry Abraham of Turkeyfoot, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, his son Thomas and Thomas' marriage to Jemmiah Jerriah Friend.
I have documented evidence of Gabriel Abram's migration from Kentucky to Jefferson Township, Pike County, Indiana and finally to Monroe County, Indiana where he lived the remainder of his life, raised his children and died. Gabriel's son Henry and his wife Catherine Hendricks moved across the county line into Greene County, where the family flourished. Many of the descendants of Henry and Catherine remain in and around Hendricksville, Indiana where a rich oral history, and fascinating photographs and artifacts of the family are cherished.
I descend from Henry and Catherine's son David H. Abram and his wife Sarah R. Taylor Abram. David and Sarah are my great, great grandparents. To date, I, along with my newly found cousin, Rose Abram Bastin, have located descendants of four of David and Sarah's eleven children. In the 1900 Census of Beech Creek Township, Greene County, Indiana, David and Sarah are living with their sons, Adam and Daniel and their grandson, Amos who was my grandfather. At that time Sarah indicates that four of her eleven children are living in 1900.
While my current Family File contains in excess of four hundred names, I am interested in finding every bit of information I can about these proud, hard working people. Any and all contributions are welcome.
