| I am searching for information on WILLIAM MAGROGAN who was born in Ireland (probably in county Antrim or Londonderry) about 1790. To the best of our knowledge, WILLIAM had two sisters Sadie Magrogan McKee (died in Ireland) and Alice Magrogan Dillin (born in Ireland ~1818 and died in Maryland ~1903). In 1833, WILLIAM married Ann Dillin (born in Ireland ~1817 and died in Maryland ~1903). While WILLIAM and Ann lived in Ireland, they had two sons (William - born ~1841 and died in Maryland ~1910), (James - born ~1842 and died in Maryland ~1923) and a daughter (Mary born in 1845 and died in Maryland ~1936). WILLIAM died in Ireland ~1833. Widow Ann and her two sons traveled to the USA in ~1848 with Ann's brother John Thomas Dillin (born in Ireland ~1818 and died in Maryland ~1900) and his wife (Alice Magrogan Dillin who was born in Ireland ~1818 and died in Maryland ~1903). We believe these two families entered the USA via Chester, Pa. The surname of Dillin was changed to Dillon after arriving in the USA. The surname Magrogan MAY have been McGrogan in Ireland. Any information will be appreciated. I am willing to share the information I have. |
