2. MARGARET JOSEPHINE² PATTON (MICHAEL¹) was born 14/June/1882 in Emmetsburg, Iowa, and died 16/September/1972 in Boone, Iowa. She married TIMOTHY JOHN MAHONEY 30/June/1913 in Emmetsburg, Iowa³, son of TIMOTHY MAHONEY and MARY HICKEY.

1896 Graduated from Iowa State College with a Bachelor of Science and a Lieutenant Colonelcy in Military Training.
1898 enlisted in Co. I, 52nd Iowa Infantry Volunteers(Spanish-American War). Mustered out as a corporal in October 1898.
1899 joined Iowa National Guard.
Resigned Iowa National Guard in 1913 as a Lt Colonel.
Served as Judge Advocate for Iowa National Guard.
Early 1900's taught in Boone County Schools.
Also worked as an agent for the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad.
1900 was living at 1221 Green St. Boone, IA.
1901 received Bachelor of Laws degree from Drake University.
Established the law firm of Goodykuntz & Mahoney, Boone, IA.
Practiced Law continuosly in Boone from 1901-1958.
11 Nov 1917 was assigned to the staff of the Provost Marshall, Gen Enoch H. Crowder, in Washington, DC. One of five civilian Judge Advocates chosen.
Transferred to the staff of Gen Peyton C. March, Chief of Staff.
Resigned 2 Feb 1919.
1936-1938 Special assistant Attorney-General to the Iowa Highway Commission.
1940 Democratic Nominee for Iowa State Supreme Court Justice.
1958 was living at 803 12th St, Boone, Iowa.
