The Tufnail Family Home Page

Philip Tufnail, married Mary Burr, b 1700 St Mary's Somerset, London,in 1723 in London and my family and I originated from them. Mary was the great great grandaughter of John Burre, b 1568 who married Mary Fowler, b 1672, in 1593. The Burre family came from Redgrave, Suffolk.

The Tufnail family remained in London until the late 1850's when William Benjamin Tufnail, b 1821 Southwark Surrey, married Eliza Brown, b 1824 Hatherden, Hampshire, in 1854 and moved to Whitchurch, Oxfordshire.

William's son Edward, b 1868, was my grandfather who married Mary Jane Bristow, b 1870, in 1899 in Goring, Oxfordshire. After their marriage they lived in Earley, Reading, Berkshire.
