For many years I have been working on and off at my family history. One of the great things about genealogy is that there is always more to learn and further to go.

When I married a few years ago, I married a man with a very short family history and a great challenge for a genealogist. His family name is Mairson. I can get as far back as 1888 when Herman Henry Mairson and Julia Minne Buehre Mairson had a child in St. Louis, Missouri. Herman Henry Mairson came to this country from Hamburg, Germany, but there are no immigration records (that I can find) that have a Mairson ever entering the United States. In fact there are only a limited number of Mairsons in the United States and none in Germany, however, I found the Mairson name in Belgium. If anyone knows the origin of the Mairson name, I would love to hear from you.

As for my heritage, I am researching Harris, Kelley, Morgan, Leigh, Dudley, Lott and Pinkerton. Most of these lines, with the exception of Morgan, came to Middle Tennessee from North Carolina. The Morgans came to Tennessee from West Virginia. If you have any information on these surnames (particularly Revolutionary Soilders or Confederate Soiders) maybe we can share information.

I look forward to sharing information with anyone who has the light to the past.
