The Main Page

I have been researching the Main, Shertzer, Shannon, and Ridge families for about six years now, starting in seventh grade. The Mains resided mostly in central Ohio, coming to Ohio from Virginia and Connecticut. Other surnames connected with the Main family include Bishop, Jacoby, Black, Schaub, Cole, and more.

The Shertzer family resided mostly in western Maryland, coming from Germany. Other surnames include Hollstein, Boerstler, Gruber, and Ebling/Abeling.

The Shannon family resided mostly in Tennesse, coming there from North and South Carolinas. Other surnames include Sexton, Hamby, Summers, Phillips, and Hatfield.

The Ridge family resided mostly in Pennsylvania (19th century) before coming to southeastern Ohio in the early 1900s. Other surnames include Ackerson, Stephan, Zimmer, Kennedy, and Wood.

I would love to hear from anyone who thinks they might have a connection. Families giving me particular trouble are the Hollstein family and the Ridge family. I also have tons of information to share!
