Richard MAJOR (ca. 1600 - bef. 1670) and his wife Jane IREMONGER left Hampshire for the Virginia Colony in 1632. One of their nine-greats-grandsons has accumulated a mailing list of about four hundred of their descendants, though primarily those of their great-great-grandson Samuel MAJOR (March 1712-December 1799) and his wife Elizabeth JONES of Middlesex County, Virginia; and within that group, primarily those of their grandson Charles MAJOR (December 3, 1775 - June 25, 1857) and his wife Mary SIMS, of Madison County, Virginia and Christian County, Kentucky.

I have been researching this line for the past nine or ten years, and have been helped by many other researchers from the family. This has resulted in a database containing over eleven thousand names and data reaching back to the 1600s. As always, it can use more information. I am greatly interested in reaching out to family members, having a family newsletter and a large network of connections.
