In 1994, I came upon a box of family notes and pictures. As I was soon to discover, that was no ordinary box. It was a TIME-MACHINE! Its discovery began a process that has transported me back and back through the years until I have reached the 10th Century. Along the way, I have encountered dead ends, false clues, red herrings, and the other pitfalls that have been the bane of all who have attempted this endeavor. (In fact, information posted only a year ago had errors, and this update includes several corrections.) But perseverance — and the much-appreciated help of others (especially the Champion and Holloway families) in the geneological community — have won out. This is my tribute to them. Recently, I have also come across information regarding my maternal grandmother's (Mary Edicer Marcum) family, and I have been searching into that line as well. There will be several photos, so keep checking back! Note: At times, striving for accuracy can be like attempting to hold a greased pig. I have made every attempt to be positive of dates, leaving ranges where the actual date could not be determined. As always, if anyone has DOCUMENTATION of any corrections that need to be made, please write or email me. Thanks!
