Granddaughter of John Mallard and Rosa Layne Daughter of Robert Herschel ( Harry Herschel) Mallard and Marie Christine tipton-Stone sister to Sandra Gale mallard-tanaka and Michael Eugene Mallard I am searching for my fathers family. My grand father was John mallard and he had a brother Will (possibly short for william) and two sisters. Their family came from Ireland through ky in the late 1800s.My gand father may have worked on the railroad for a while. He married my grand mother in the early 1900s in the NC-Tn-Ga border area. It is believed that Will lived in NC.My gandfather settled down on a farm in Monteagle Tn when he married my grandmother. He was well to do as he paid cash for the farm, and all their living expenses for the few years they were together. When my father was 2years old my grandfather took between 10 and 15 thousand dollars out of the bank and travled to harlem county Ky to buy live-stock for the farm.He was found in harlem county ky on a road shot in the head and the money was gone, this was in 1923.It is said that he and his broher Will had a fight some years before this; and they never talked after that day, and the where abouts of Will and the two sister are not known. My grandmother could not remember the names of the sisters. She believes that will had two boys when they were last together they were named will and Robert. My grandmother passed away in the 60's. I have never known this side of my family.I would like to find them. My father and I would like help. I would like to reunie my father with some of his family before he dies.He feels cut off from his family and roots, as there were no other children, no cousins, aunts and uncles for him to know.If any of these name match with some one you know or your familys past please contact me.I met a David Mallard in Macon Ga, once who said is grandfather was Will and that he was from Cherokee, NC and that his gradfather had a brother name John.As he was going to Texas, at the time and we did not have more time.We lost contact, and have not contacted after that time. Thank you Bobbie
