Notes for Lizeam C. Stracener:
Lizeam drove some of his hogs and cattle from Tarkington Prairie to Houston, TX to sell.  He made the sale and left to return home.  He was alone and on horseback and his horse came home without him.  During the search for Lizeam, a sheriff in Liberty County found his body and brought him home, telling the story that he must have fallen and hit his head.  All of the money from the hogs/cattle he sold was gone.  (Ava Stracener Malone, Sept. 1998)

There are conflicting birthdates for Lizeam and his brother, William Everett.  They are both said to have been born in 1877 within one month of each other.  The birthdate for Lizeam came from his headstone in Ryan Cemetery, Liberty Co., TX.  William's birthdate came from an online Stracener family history which seemed to be well documented.  Either one or both of the brothers' birth years is off by a year one way or the other.  I'll have to try to find proof of Lizeam's birthdate.
