Campbell Maloney, born about 1798 in Campbell County, lived most of his life in Charlotte County, Virginia. He married Eliza Pollard 11/9/1824, in that county. He was a blacksmith and had his shops near Red Hill in the northwest part of Charlotte County. They had at least five children, including my great- grandfather, Peyton P. Maloney, and James Frank Maloney. Campbell Maloney died in 1893. For a number of years I have been gathering general information on Maloneys who lived in Virginia before the Civil War, and in addition to information about my family in Southside Virginia I have information about Maloneys who lived in the upper Shenandoah Valley (Frederick and Shenandoah Counties).
James Maloney, born about 1765 in Virginia, and Nancy Campbell, are probably the parents of Campbell Maloney. Nancy Campbell was the daughter of Laurence Campbell of Amherst County, Virginia, and she married James Maloney in that county in July, 1787. James Maloney was living in Charlotte County in the 1840's, and the last recorded reference to him there is in 1847.

In addition to Campbell and Pollard, related families include Cocke (Lucy Ann Cocke), Thornton (Elizabeth Jane Thornton), Clark (Jesse Mae Clark) and Riley (Marjorie Ann Riley).

I would be happy to share information that I have. I am seeking information to positively establish the relationship between James Maloney and Campbell Maloney, and I am looking for information about Delaware Maloney and Issac Maloney who also lived in Charlotte County.

My wife's family is from North Carolina by way of Kentucky, and I am seeking information about 1) James W. Hendrick who married Lucinda Elizabeth Graham in Warren County, Kentucky in 1861 and died 1862-1866, 2) Solomon T. Stickland, born 1818 Newton County, GA and died 1898 in AL, and Adkins Perdu, born 1801 in NC.
