| This is the web site of the Bose Malik Family of Mahinagar, Bengal, India. The name of the family is written either as Bose, Bose Malik or Basu Mallik or Vasu Mallik and some parts or the family just write Malik or Mallik. Originating in the 9th Century AD, with Dashrath Basu, the family has a proud tradition spanning 31 Generations of Nobility, Achievement, Entrepreneurship and Philanthrophy. It produced, noblemen and lords, industrialists and businessmen, freedom fighters, jurists, reformers and contributors to society, idealists, and patron of the arts and educators who made an impact in India and around the world. Prominent individuals in the family include, Dashrath Basu; Maharaj Mahipati Basu (Ishah Khan); Maharaja Gopinath Basu (Purandar Khan - Nobleman and Prime Minister); Radhanath Basu Mallik (entrepreneur, trader and founder of the Hooghly Dock Yard); Manmath Chandra Basu Mallik (author, barrister and a pioneering global citizen who as an Indian stood for Parliamentary elections in Britain in 1895); Raja Subodh Chandra Basu Mallik ( Early Freedom figher, entrepreneur, one of the founders of Jadhavpur University and financier of pioneering Nationalist Newspaper - "Bande Materam"); Charu Chandra Basu Mallik (Calcutta Municipal Commissioner, Kaisar-E-Hind, entrepreneur, founder of Indian Match Factory and Bengal Bonded Warehouse and the Presidency College Debating Society); Bidu Bhushan Malik (Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, Chancellor of Calcutta University and Governor or United Provinces, contributor to the Constitution of India and author of the constitution of several countries); Sudi Bhushan Malik (Justice Allahabad High Court) Jyoti Bhushan Malik (An Indian Engineer who rose to the level of Member of Board of Shell NV); Amiya Bhushan Malik (Commissioner Agra UP who initiated and was the chief of the clean up effort of Agra - the City of the Taj Mahal, as Secretary Defence Production, he implimented the policy of self reliance in defence production industries)and finally perhaps the most prominent member Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose (President of the Indian National Congress, founder of the Indian National Army and giant in the pantheon of Indian Freedom fighters). Nikhil P. Malik the 30th direct male decendent of Dashrath Basu is researching the history of the Family and aims to write a book that is journey through time with the evolution of the family.
