Ruth was part of a Protestant emigration from all over Ireland that first came to Boston between 1715 and 1719. There were several groups. The one Ruth was in was led by a Rev. Thomas Craighead and others actually settled in the Freetown area briefly. and it was he who married Ruth & Joseph I. Published lists of Protestant clergy in Ireland do list several Castleton men as settled clergy.
