John1 Lott; born circa 1700 (Since this John is assumed to be the father of the John born about 1720, he must have been born by this date or before); married Elizabeth Joyner, daughter of John Joyner and Elizabeth Brown, circa 1719 (Elizabeth Joiner was a sister of Solomon and Absalom who were contemporaries of John "the elder" of Edgecombe Co., therefore, she is assumed to be the wife of this John); married Emile (--?--) before 1778 (said on 22 Jan 1778, his widow Emile stated that her husband had died and she was petitioning for 72 acres or thereabouts on the Tombecky River, and 80 acres was granted to the daughter of the deceased above Mobile) (Mary A. He lived in 1754 Duplin Co., NC (In 1754 there were 2 adult John Lott's in Duplin Co., NC. I assume this one is the father of the John Lott who was the father of the John Lott born in 1742. This one would have to be born by 1700 for that to be the case). He executed a deed on 28 Sep 1754 Cohera River, Duplin Co., NC (said John Lott 200 ac on n side) (Hofman, Colony of North Carolina, p 338.). He executed a deed on 11 Aug 1760 Duplin Co., NC (said John Lott Sr., gentleman, to John Lott Jr. both residents of Duplin Co. 100 ac of land. Coffee County Ga Progress and Douglas Enterprise, Apr 1954). He executed a deed on 11 May 1761 Duplin Co., NC (said John Lott Sr. to William Pope 200 ac of land. Douglas Enterprise and Coffee Co. Progress, Apr 1954). He immigrated on 10 Oct 1775 to British West Florida (said John Lott, Sr. - 10 Dec 1776, 250 acres family right on the west side of Tombecky River 110 miles above Mobile. Elizabeth Joyner was born circa 1700 VA.

Said James Lott was a SC casuality.).

He was also known as Lett in may records. He began military service circa 1755 Edgecombe Co., NC (Murtie June Clark, Colonial Soldiers of the South, 1732-1774 (Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., 1983), P 680.
