       2. William³ J.Manning (Hannah Honora² Noonan, Daniel¹) was born November 26, 1874 in Hartford, Connecticut, and died December 12, 1944 in Elmira, New York. He married Margaret N. Hughes 1897 in Elmira, New York; St. Patrick's Church, daughter of Patrick Hughes and Margaret Campbell.

William Manning was born in Hartford, CT, in 1974, to the parents of James and Hanna Honora (Noonan) Manning. Both James and Hanora immigrated from Ireland. They had two children, William and Bridget ("Babe") Manning.

We believe James passed away at an early age, and Hanna traveled to Elmira, NY. She gave birth to Bridget in Elmira in 1876. William was born in Hartford, CT in 1874. Hanna remarried (around 1885) to Oscar Eppler in Elmira, NY. Oscar and Hanna gave birth to three children, Mary Loise (May), Ora Elizabeth, and D. Oscar. These three became the half sisters/brother of William Manning.

William met Margaret "Nonnie" Hughes and they were married, and eventually gave birth to 13 children (one child was lost at birth. The children were, in order of thier births, Florence, James, Rose, William, Ora, Daniel, Mary E., Frances, John T., George, Anna Mae, Agnes Ruth, and Raymond. They resided first on Blommer Ave. and then to their permanent residence at 207 Front Street, Elmira.

One of Wiliam's first jobs was at Bridge Brewery in Elmira, and its been said that he got a dirty deal there and was released (Reason: he wouldn't cross the picket line). He then was offered a job by Mr. Hassett owner of Elmira Coal Company as a Salesman. He was a prominent Democrat who became a Ward Alderman.

He was appointed as one of three Board Members of the Alcoholic Board in 1933.

William Manning died on December 12, 1944 in Elmira. His body was at the Frank O'Dea Home and returned to the family home at 207 Front Street where the funeral service was held. A mass was held at 9:00 AM at St. Patrick's Church. The Rev. William J. Brien celebrated the Solemn Requiem Mass assisted by and assisted by the Revs. John A. Murphy and Joseph F. Hogan. The Rev. William Cannan was in the Sanctuary, and pallbearers were Thomas A. Mahoney, Cornelius Donahue, Frederick Stutzke, William Kelly, Lawrence O'Dea, and William Mantell. He was laid to rest at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery in Elmira.

5. Ora Elizabeth³ Eppler (Hannah Honora² Noonan, Daniel¹) was born July 11, 1888 in Elmira, New York, and died January 21, 1959 in Hornell, New York. She married J. Raymond Kelly August 30, 1916 in St. Patrick's Church, Elmira, NY, son of John Kelly and Theresa Henneberg.
