| I am researching the EDWARDS side of my family tree.(My sister Laurel Moon has her own Home Page - The Laurel Moon Family Home Page - listing all branches of our family - BISCH, McALPINE (MacALPINE), METZLER, MULLEN, SABIN, SCHMITT & TROEDEL.)I am also researching my husband's side, as well. Major surnames are STAFFORD, BLALOCK, REED AND LESLIE/LESLEY. For several years I have concentrated on my gt.gt.gr.parents - Amos Heald EDWARDS and Eliza Carolina GRANT - and their children, Altaire Hahrue, Charles Porter, Alphonso C.(A.C.), Ella Carrie, Eo Rio (E.R.), Sibbie Eddie, Bert Elgin (my gt. gr.father) and Ivers Cummings. Amos was born in 1817 in Vermont and died December 30, 1905 in Kearney, Nebraska. Eliza was born May 19, 1820 in New Hampshire and died in Denver, while visiting relatives, November 26, 1891 and is also buried in Kearney, Nebraska. Altaire died in the Civil War. Charles Porter was born in Cincinnati, Ohio January 23, 1847 and died in San Diego January 10, 1902. Alphonso C. was born in Wisconsin on June 10, 1851 and died in Fullerton, California on November 22, 1929. Ella Carrie born in Wisconsin on March 26, 1853 and died in Fresno, California on March 6, 1942. Eo Rio born in Wisconsin July 23, 1855 and died June 24, 1923 in Kearney, Nebraska. Bert Elgin born in Wisconsin on February 29, 1860 and died in Portland, Oregon on April 15, 1927. Ivers Cummings was born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin April 25, 1863 and died May 14, 1939 in Denver, Colorado. I am still looking for the where abouts of Sibbie Eddie. I found him in the 1900 and 1910 census listed as Edward Edwards. In both he was single and listed as a farmer. In 1900 he was in Kearney, Nebraska and in 1910 he was living in Brown County. Most likely near Ainsworth, where he was listed in a bio of a brother as being in the hotel business. Any information you should have on Sibbie or any others, please feel free to contact me. My "hunting" is a continual process, slow but continuous, therefore small bits of new info may appear, so please check back periodically. Also if you have a connection from "way back" don't hesitate to contact me either. I love finding new "cousins", even distant ones. Hope to hear from you soon. HAPPY HUNTING!!!! Jean |
