I am researching the Manning family from Charles County, Maryland. Joseph Manning was High Sherriff of Charles County, Maryland and presumned to have lived in or near Port Tobacco, Maryland around 1654. He was married to Mary Blackfan Stone and had two Step-sons John and Thomas Stone. He had a son John Manning and a daughter Esther Manning. His grandson George Manning migrated to Windsor, North Carolina where he farmed tobacco. George also migrated to Anderson, County South Carolina and later to Cobb County, Marietta, Georgia where he died ABT. August 1840. He had 14 children, many of his decendants lived in the Loundesville, and Calhoun Falls, South Carolina area. |
