The John Mangan Family of Limerick Ireland

For 20 years, I have been researching Irish roots of the John Mangan Family of Limerick County Ireland. John Mangan was born abt 1810 in Askeaton, had 4 children, the second of whom was John Patrict Mangan, my grandfather. John Patrick and 2 or 3 of his siblings came to America in 1865 and settled in Waterford NY. He married Mary Burns, had 3 girls by her and she died in 1879. John Patrick re-married in 1880 to my grandmother, Ellen Dalton, originally from County Waterford, Ireland. HE CHANGED OUR FAMILY NAME IN 1880 TO MANION. They had 7 children one of whom was my father, Thomas A.Mangan/Manion. John Patrick Mangan was born in 1841 and died in 1924. I also researching The Edmund Dalton Family of County Waterford Ireland. Edmund Dalton married Catherine Raher and was the father of Ellen Dalton, my grandmother and John Patrick's spouse. Ellen Dalton Manion was born in 1849, emigrated from Waterford Co Ireland to New York State in 1866, and died in 1933 in Waterford NY. I visited and did 2 weeks of on-the-ground research in Limerick in 2006. I found and met with several families in the Limerick Mangan Clan with whom I still work via email.
