The Manning Family Tree Research
My Family goes back to 1781 with the baptisam at Burlescombe Somerset of John Manning,he married Sarah Potter in 1808.
She died aged 34 in 1820, John remarried in 1831 to Elizabeth Drew in Tiverton.
John and Sarah had four children,Charlotte,Harriet,James,and Francis. John and Elizabeth had three children,Elizabeth,
John,and Jane. My tree then branchs down through their eldest son James Potter
Manning born in 1814 at Burlescombe/Westliegh Somerset.
He married Sarah Alford in 1832 at Tiverton Devon.
They had Twelve children between 1832 and 1860 all born around
the Tiverton area and working as a Gamekeeper at Knightshayes
Estate for many years. His son Charles born 1841 was my Great Gran Father,he married Eliza Snell in 1844 at Tiverton.
They had Twelve children between 1864 and 1883,and like his father he also spent many years as a gamekeeper at Knightshayes Estate Tiverton Their son Sidney was my Gran Father born at Tiverton in 1879.
where he married Jane Bryant in 1908 at Tiverton,,they had Ten children from 1910 to 1925 He worked as a tenant farmer/rabbit trapper for Knightshayes estate.
and on to my father Frank Manning one of there seven sons born
at Lime Kiln cottages in Aug 1922.
