* Camposulous/Campos - A Horrible Family*

Updated August 7, 2005

A horrible evil family filled with mental health problems . Dr Frank Green states in his book (History of Rockland County) published in 1886 under the title (Ladentown) that the family is so ignorant , so lost, that on two occasions he found members living in Ladentown in their 20's did not know who God was ! He also describes the family as generation after generation passing away in ignorance. This would explain how Helen Moritz of 444 High Street, Closter New Jersey, Dorothy Campos of 450 High Street , Closter ,New Jersey, Ruth , and Robert Campos of 6 Sugar Lane , New Paltz ,New York and Willian Campos went through life believing they were related to William Pitt ; Earl of Chatham England . A story made up by ignorant family members that could not read nor write living within the Ramapo mountains in Rockland County , New York between the years 1900-1920 rooted in greed thinking they could benefit financially from the Estate of the late William Pitt. This not only demonstrates a lack of common sence and reasoning by the Campos family and others but gives merit to Dr Frank Green's observations and conclusions pretaining to this family . Dr Green's book can be found in Orange and Rockland County New York Historical and Genealogical Centers and any public Library within these counties . My research into this family line stated in 1992 and is documented in Marjorie Stevenot's book (Families of the Ramapos) To give an idea of the insanity demonstrated by the Campos family my aunt Dorothy Campos had the audacity to threaten me with legal action if I undertook a genealogical search of (my) family line . Not only did I find this humorous but once again witnessed the stupidity and arrogance that lives within this family. This book can be purchased through the Historical and Genealogical
Societies in Orange and Rockland counties . Although Marjorie Stevenot's book extensively covers the Pitt line it also mentions the Campos family who decend from the Pitt , Babcock and Conklin families of the Ramapo mountains located in Rockland County , New York .
I have found and documented severe mental health problems within this family starting with Mary Jane Conklin daughter of Johnson Conklin and Ann Osborn . Mary Jane Conklin married her cousin Henry B. Conklin . She spent 18 years in a Mental Institution in Middletown , New York.
It should also be mentioned that the mental health problems within this family line stem from Pearl Betty Babcock's line ; (Mother of the Campos family) back to her grandmother Mary Jane Conklin . No mental health problems can be found in my grandfather's line , Thomas Campos . The name Campos is of course Latin but my grandfather Thomas Campos shortened his name upon arrival from his native land Greece in the early 1900's from Camposulous .
Although I do not pretend to have any skills as a writer, I will do my best to present the truth and nothing but the truth . I have lived in this family for 57 years , have endured nightmares of horror, have witnessed a complete and total lack of integerty from this family , which seems to have no moral center , and lacks a soul. It almost appears as though the Devil himself lives within the hearts of these people .
Not only have I witnessed what I am about to write , but have researched and recorded converstaions to verify my conclusions .
On July 5 , 2005 I sent my cousin Tracy Cullen who resides at 140 Park Ave. Dumont , New Jersey a 13 page letter explaining what has transpired within this family including how her uncle, Bob Campos, risiding at 6 Sugar Lane , New Paltz , New York molested 4 woman within this family . Her reaction and the reaction of the family was nothing . Tracy Cullen is the daughter of Helen Campos
(Runge)(Mortiz) of Closter . Check notes for Tracy and Jim Cullen.
