William Goodwin has been my brick wall.....and with not knowing specific info about him;like the exact year born and who his parents/siblings were, has left me wondering if he really existed. I've been working on leads to him, through his son-Russell Goodwin, seems the only clues too him was, through what I found out about "Pitts Place" other genealogists seems to think it may have been called "Pitts Folly" and this was owned by two brothers from North Carolina, named; Thomas and Philip Pitts. It seems they had alot of money-personal/real property according to the 1860 census for Perry County(Uniontown, Alabama). So these two could be my lead to my 3rd great-grandfather.
