Thomas is Listed in the 1850 Anderson Co TN census
1041/1049: Thomas Marlow 48; Michael farmer 22, Thomas 15, Jinsey 13, Cresy
10, Reuben 5, Powell 3.

One one side of him is 1040/1048: Benjamin Marlow 23; and Elizabeth 20.

On the other side of him is 1042/1050: Calvin Carroll
20; and Sarah 24.

In the 1840 census for Campbell County, there are 3 females listed besides
Elizabeth WARD MARLOW. One female is of 5 years of age, but under 10(Susan); one
female is of 10 years of age, but under 15(Elizabeth); one female is of 15 years
of age, but under 20 (Jane). Lucretia hadn't been born by the time the 1840
census was taken. There are 5 males listed besides Thomas MARLOW, Sr. One male
is under 5 years of age (Thomas, Jr.); three males are of 5 years of age, but
under 10 (Benjamin, maybe Michael, and one unknown); one male is of 15 years of
age, but under 20(name unknown). That leaves 2 males unaccounted for in the 1840
census. Of course, individuals listed in a particular household in a census do
not have to be the children of the heads of that household, but the males who
are unaccounted for make me wonder. - Ima Stephens

1900 Census listing of Isaac Marlow has his mother listed as being born in Virginia

Death certificate of Isaac marlow has mother's maiden name listed as Phronnie Harmon. And this brings up a big puzzle I have been trying to work through. "A Promise of Good Things: Longfield Baptist Church 1831-1981" by Edith Wilson Hutton states that Profanes White and her mother Mrs. Hannah White were part of the White family that joined the Longfield Baptist Church. There is no mention of Profane's father anywhere.

By pure accident while I was researching for someone else, I ran across a listing in "Tennessee Tidbits 1778-1914 v. 3 by Marjorie Hood Fischer & Ruth Blake Burns.

Harmon, Paul
15 July 1829 was charged by Hannah White for begetting two bastard children upon her body. He made bond for their maintenance with George Melton and Banister Vowel as security. (Anderson County, Tennessee, County Court Minutes, 4/170)

I suspect that Profanes was one of these illegitimate children, But I have found nothing that proves or substantiates this.
