Wow! I have found out so much more since I last updated this page. I am still looking for the following families in Wisconsin. I have the basics, but can't find the earliest records. Can you help me? -Walter, Ruchhoeft, Ladewig, Waak (Waack), Maier, Phalen (John) in Manitowoc -Sanders (Frank) in Berlin (WI) -Landusky, Renaldi (Molly) in Waukesha -Waterman in Marinette -Marienthal, Borisch (Gladys), Lemke (Clara Rose), Trippansee in Milwaukee Also seeking the Johanna Waterman, nee Nilson, and the Ralph Keerl family in Ohio (around Cuyahoga county). Johanna may have died in Ohio after 1930. Also hoping to get back to the "old country." The families in Manitowoc arrived approximately 1850 via New Orleans. Some of the family settled in Belleville, Texas. John Phalen immigrated 1854 via Detroit and may have settled in Quebec for a while after leaving Ireland during the potato famine. My great-grandfather had a sister, whose daughter, Erminie, supposedly was the wife of a Canadian Prime Minister. Also seeking the maiden name of the wife of John Phalen of Manitowoc: Elizabeth Margaret, of Scots birth, who immigrated with an aunt and uncle in 1856. Lastly, seeking traces of "Elisee O'Harrow," born approximately 1864 in Brown County (WI), who is in the 1880 census record as the step-daughter of my great-great-grandfather Phalen. | The Cynthia Marienthal Home Page Updated July 13, 2010 |
