Notes for Amo Mateu BENEJÁM Barcelo: Amo Mateu was born on March 22, 1687 in Ciutadella, Minorca. He was an agricultorist as of January 21, 1718. He married Maria Salort on the 23rd of August in 1711 in Ciutadella, Minorca Spain. The Fray Jaime Felip performed the requisite wedding. Witnesses to the marriage were: Josepho Barcelo and Josepho Coll. Mateu was a widower at the time of the wedding and his prior wife was Antonio Marcadal. Amo Mateu died on the 19th of August in 1744. He was born in Ciutadella, Minorca Spain. "Amo" is a title given to people that were tenant farmers and owned farms of importance.
