Notes for Juana Ines BENEJÁM Vásquez: Information provided by Jose G. Perez: Doña Juana Inés Benejam, born on the 20th of April in 1786 and baptized on the 30th of April in 1786 in the Catedral de San Juan. The godparents were don Juan Díez del Barrio and Felipa de la Cruz Santana; witnesses were don Juan Roldán and Miguel Orillana. She married on the 24th of February in 1806 in the Catedral de San Juan to Leonardo Severo Díaz de Castro, born on the 8th of September in 1779 and baptized on the 21st of September in 1779 in the Catedral de San Juan, son of de José de la Concepción Díaz and Micaela de Castro Vasquez; they were given a dispensation because they were related (third grade of sanguinity). Witnesses of the marriage were don Manuel Caldas, Cayetano Rodríguez, Joaquín Rosa and others present. Children of this marriage were Marcelina (born on the 9th of January in 1811 and baptized on the 20th of January in 1811 in the CSJ) and Josefa Genara (born on the 19th of September in 1812 and baptized on the 5th of October in 1812 in the CSJ). Doña Juana Inés Benejam was buried on the 18th of July in 1860 in San Juan, the widow of Leonardo Diaz.
