I am in the process of tracing my family tree (Schmid) and my husbands family tree (Marquardt).The Schmid's or Schmidt's for my grandfather dropped the t off of Schmidt are from Wisconsin and the Upper Pennisula of Michigan.The Marquardt's I am looking for are from Hoskins, Nebraska.
My grandfather,John Peter Schmid, was born on August 1, 1902 and was the son of Joesph and Mary Schmidt.He had many brothers and sisters.My grandfather's first wife was Katherine (Behrendt), with whom were born 4 children.Bobby, Betty, Jack, and Don.Katherine died, and he remarried my grandmother Elaine Grayson.
My husbands grandfather was Fred Marquardt and his grandmother was Alice (Baumiester).His grandparents on his mothers side were Carl Wittler and Hazel (meierhenry).They all were from Hoskins, NE.
The Schmid family is planning a reunion for June of 2006.Details will be provided at a future date.
Any help with these family trees would be greatly appreciated.
