George Washington Brandon was a member of a Masonic Order, and Dicie Bell Brandon has photographs of him in his full regalia.

George Washington Brandon, his second wife Ida Lucinda Elmore, and Ida's mother Julia Byers Elmore moved from Pickens County, Alabama to Greene County, Arkansas sometime between 1894-1897 (according to the birthplaces of Ida's children.)
