"History of The Landers Family of Virginia and Kentucky" by David Landers (1926).

David Landers book dates back to 1635, Lynn, Massachusetts. No record is available except Bible records until 1729 at which time we get the Bible record of Luke Landers and Rachel Parris Landers who were born in Virginia.

From this book:
Perhaps the first Landers to come to this country was Thomas and two brothers. On June 1, 1635, when Thomas Landers was but 22 years old, he sailed from London on the good ship "Abrigail", Robert Hackwell, master, and landed at Lynn, Massachusetts, in the the early autumn. He was among the earliest settlers at Sandwich, Cape Cod. He married Jane Kirby July 2, 1651, and died November 19, 1675. They had eight children.

One of the three brothers who came at the same time was not satisfied with the climate of Massachusetts and he migrated to Virginia where he settled. Luke Landers is probably descendant of this Landers brother.

Source: History of the Landers Family in America (1635-1966) by Simon E. Boozer & Mary Ann Landers Payne.
The parents of Luke Landers are unknown but he had a brother, Thomas, who moved to Lenox, Massachusetts about 1764. Thomas had a daughter, Sarah Landers, who married Solomon Curtis. Their descendents at one time lived in Addison NY.
