9. WESLEY FANTLEY4 FULTZ (OBADIAH3 FULTS, ADAM2 FULKS, MATTHEW1 FULK) was born 15 August 1815 in Russell Co, VA, and died 29 June 1887 in Wesleyville, Carter Co, KY. He married SYLVIA STAMPER 28 January 1840 in Carter Co, KY, daughter of John Stamper and Sarah Stamper.

From Patrick Fultz of Oregon:

Wesley Fults was born 15 August 1815 in Virginia. Most certainly Wesley place
of birth was Russell County, Virginia, same as his sister, Elizabeth (Fults)
Buckner so listed according to her official death record.

Wesley arrived in what is now Carter County, Kentucky at an early age with
his parents Obadiah and Martha Blankenship Fults.

January 28, 1840 Wesley took as his bride Silvia Stamper, daughter of John
and Sarah Stamper and Great Granddaughter of Edward Polly a Patriot who served
in the Revolutionary War as a Private in the Virginia Line under Captain
Burton.
Wesley and Silvia were the parents of thirteen children. Seven sons and six
daughters. James, John Wesley, Obadiah, Martha, George Washington, Andrew
Jackson, Sarah, Millie, Nancy, Symantha (Cynthia) Evaline, Joseph, W.
Lafayette (Lafe) and Emmaline.
Wesley was a farmer, Minister, Merchant and large land owner mostly on
Buffalo Creek in Carter County, Kentucky where he settled early and lived and
died as did several of his children and descendants many who are still there
to this day. He was a Minister in the Christian Church of Kentucky and
according to Arthur Fults and various other sources Wesley Fults along with
his brother Arthur and a man named Lawhorn each gave part of their property
where it joined to what is now Bethel Church and Cemetery located on Kentucky
State route #2 in Carter County situated between lower Smokey Buffalo Creek.
The original church was built in a large shove by resources contributed by
Wesley Fults where when completed he often conducted services and where his
family and descendants attended services and where many including Wesley and
his wife, Sylvia are buried in the church yard cemetery.
According to Alfred Wesley Hurst, Wesley Fults attended the Charter
Conference of the Founding of the Christian Church in Kentucky.
Wesley’s Granddaughter, Emmaline Fults and Hiram Davis who now live at Loyd,
Kentucky in Greenup County states that as each of Wesley’s children married he
gave them a farm and built them a home and supplied stock. This was confirmed
by Violet (Fults) Rose another Granddaughter of Wesley’s who is the daughter
of Wesley’s son Joseph and lives at Olive Hill Carter County, Kentucky.
