The Louisville Times Newspaper, July 27, 1904, Page 6, Section 1, John Mundon, the ten-year-old son of William Mundon, died at his home at 1 o'clock this Wednesday morning from injuries he sustained in falling from a tree at Twenty-second and Main streets Saturday. The body will be sent to Jeffersontown for interment. Young Mundon was climbing a tree after a birds nest on the old Slaughter lot when he lost his balance and fell to the ground, striking on his head. His little seven-year-old brother was the only one about, and after an unsuccessful effort to carry his injured brother the little lad ran to his home and notified his mother of the accident. The injured lad was found in an unconscious condition by Sergt. Dalton, of the fourth police district, who called the patrol wagon and had him removed to his home. Dr. Laughlin and Dr. Roberts were called and attended him. Upon examination it was found that he had suffered a blood clot on the brain and a broken jaw. An operation was performed, buth the clot was in the structure of the brain and his life could not be saved. Coroner Kelly rendered a verdict of death due to an accidental fall. 2.
