Surry Co., NC WIll Book # 1 Page 151 State of NCarolina | In the name of God Amen I Daniel McBride of Surry County| the County and State aforesaid being of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God do this fifth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred twenty make and publish this my last Will and Testament in the manner following that is to say First I give and bequeath my beloved wife Elizabeth McBride all my estate both real & personal during her life or widowhood then to be equally divided between my five Children To Wit. Thomas William John Green & Daniel Secondly I want all my just debts paid out of my money or property & also want my children to be totarably educated. Thirdly I want all debts & money due to me to be collected and put to the best use & to that which would be most to the interest of my family. Fourthly if any of my children should marry I want them to be hope to something as much as could be will spare not giving neither of them more than that would be there part. Fifthly my will and desire is that if my wife should think proper & my other Executors think that it would be to her Interest & to my childrens Interest also for the land to be sold that I now live on & to purchase another peace where my wife would be better satisfied The whole of this to be strictly attended to by my Executors And I hereby make & ordain my beloved wife Elizabeth McBride John Martin & John Green Executrix & Executors of this my last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I the said Daniel McBride hath herunto set my hand & seal this day and date above writen Signed sealed & delivered in the presence of Daniel McBride Isaac Martin Martin Green State of North Carolina Surry County February Session AD 1822 Isaac Martin one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing last will & Testament of Daniel McBride made oath that he saw the said Daniel sign publish and declare the same to be his last will and Testament that he was of sound disposing mind and memory and at the same time he saw Martin Green sign the same as a witness thereto which was ordered to be Recorded Recorded accordingly ?
