Wilkes Co., NC Will Book #1 Page 245 In the name of God Amen. I William Sale of Wilkes County in the state of North Carolina being of perfect sence and of sound memory calling to mind the uncertainty of times and certainty of death do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following. I bind unto my beloved wife Ann Sale the use of all my whole estate both real and personal during her natural life or widowhood and after her disease to be left as following. Item I give to my son Cornelius Sale five shilling currency over and above what I have already given him for his part. Item. I give to my daughter Patty Allen five shilling currency over and above what I have already given her for her part. Item. I give to my son William Sale five shilling currency over a nd above what I have already given to him in full for his part. Item. My will and desire is that after my wife Ann Sales death that the rest of the remainder of my estate be given and disposed as following. I do give and demise unto my sons James Sale and Robert Sale (after their mothers decease) my tract of land whereon I now live containing two hundred acres of land to be divided between them to them and their heirs forever. And as to the rest and remaining part of my estate I will and positively order that it be equally divided (after my wifes decease) among my surviving children hereafter named. To wit Leonard Sale, John Sale, Sally Robards, Thomas Sale, Peggy Grant, Molly Martin, James Sale, Elizabeth Sale, Roberts Sale and Frances Sale to them and their heirs forever. And lastly I constitute and appoint my wife Ann Sale Whole and sole Executrix to this my last will and testament given under my hand and seal this eighteenth day of September 1787.
